Daytrip Team
Dear customers, we want to reassure you that we take the privacy and security of our customer’s data as our top priority. We want to address recent reports discussing a temporary exposure of one of our databases.
What happened
In October 2024, we experienced a security event during which a database on one of our proprietary cloud servers was temporarily accessible between October 21 and October 24, 2024, due to an unauthorized copy made by a contractor. The issue was quickly identified, and immediate action was taken to have it fully resolved.
What information was involved
The database contained personal information, including names, surnames, and trip information (origin/destination). Importantly, no payment information, passwords, or authentication credentials (IDs/passports) were exposed.
Immediate actions taken
upon discovery of the unauthorized copy, we took immediate action to secure the database, and we terminated collaboration with the responsible vendor
an investigation was launched to assess the scope of the exposure, and we found no evidence that the temporary access to the data caused its misuse
enhanced security measures have been implemented to prevent such exposure from occurring in the future
Commitment to privacy and security
At Daytrip, safeguarding our customers’ privacy and security is our top priority. We are dedicated to handling data with the utmost care and continually strengthening our measures to ensure the highest standards of protection. All our practices are in place to ensure that processes and systems meet the highest standards of security and compliance.
